Everyone reading this will be able to relate to the frustration caused when you have an irrepressible urge to play a mobile game but you only have one hand free, namely during your commute to work. You can see everyone around you having fun as they entertain their brains via the medium of a mobile game, both their hands free enough to see them excel past their previous high score on LittleBigPlanet, or to another level or a bigger cash prize, but all you can do is look on with envy, unable to scratch the itch that is the urge to game.

If this reminds you of how you feel twice a day from Monday through Friday – with the occasional Saturday thrown in for good measure – then we have some good news because we have pulled together a list of great games you can play while trying to keep your footing on a bus, train, tram or plane.

  1. Pac-Man

The classics are always the best; the chance to entertain your nostalgia for half an hour before you enter the workplace and thus the real world you despise so much. However, the original Pac-Man – as awesome as it is – is not the one you should be playing because Pac-Man 256 is another level of entertaining. It is endless. There are powerups. There are ghosts with different skills. Yeah, the makers have taken an addictive game and made even more like crack.

  1. Book Of Dead

For anyone that is a fan of slot games will have heard of Rich Wilde and his many adventures, but the latest edition to grace the new casinos online is one that is more entertaining, more flash and more fun than ever. It just has so much more, well, danger added to it. Sure, it is not exactly a brand new adventure, but the charming Indiana Jones thing is pretty cool.

  1. Threes

There have been a few variations of this game come out over the years, but Threes is our pick. We would even go as far as saying it is one of the best one-handed mobile games ever created. In essence, all you have to do is slide the tiles about on a four by four grid to combine the numbers and create the highest score possible. Simple. But what you will find too hard to resist is the strategy it requires, the critical and creative thinking, and the brain power. You need to think three steps ahead of yourself in order to really succeed. Basically, it is a great way to perk yourself up before work and a great way to get your brain working after another numbing day in the office.

  1. Boom Dots

It may not go down as the most sophisticated and entertaining game ever devised, but if you are looking to have some fun while on the go then this is your baby. The fact you can tap anywhere on the screen is what makes it ideal for one-handed play. The aim of the game is to fire your dot into another bigger dot that is moving above. The long game is to try and link as many of the dots together as possible.
