EA Reveals 3 New Star Wars Battlefront Modes

Posted October 21, 2015 by Bunneh3000 in News

With the new trailer sending the Force into a frenzy, EA and DICE have been progressively releasing more and more info about the modes in Star Wars Battlefront. Next up to bat are Heroes vs. Villains, Battles, and Training Missions.

In Heroes vs. Villains, 12 players battle it out where 3 players on each side are one of the many Hero characters in the game for the Rebels or the Imperials. This mode is intended to be short and frantic with over-powered characters duking it out with a small group of troops. In line with this announcement was the reveal of 3 more hero characters that will be available. Joining Luke, Vader, and Boba Fett will be Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Emperor Palpatine. Honestly, I’m still awaiting Darth Maul but I’ve a feeling that a majority of the other characters will be from the new movie. Just let me Force choke and toss my enemies around like in Force Unleashed and I’ll be a happy camper. While I didn’t get a chance to play as one of these units in the beta, I’m certain it is a blast!

Next up is the Battles Mode. This mode is considered one of the ‘off-line’ modes despite the ability to play co-op (local or online) or against a friend. These battles are pretty standard like a deathmatch vs. Game only the way you score is by picking up the tokens dropped once a foe is defeated. The tougher the foe was, the more value the token provides. First to 100 wins. This can be 1 v 1 or it can be 1 plus AI versus 1 plus AI or even 1 plus 1 plus AI versus AI. It is totally your choice. To spice things up even more, there is a Hero Battles mode that is the same only you play as a hero unit rather than a soldier.

Not much to be said about the Training Missions. These are basically tutorials that teach you how to pilot the different vehicles in the games or use the Hero units well.
