Pokemon GO Announced for 2016 Release – Pokemon Just Got REAL

Posted September 10, 2015 by Kenesu in News

Hey there GP Fans!!!! The Pokemon Company recently held a press conference announcing the arrival of a brand new Pokemon game that I’m pretty sure NOBODY was expecting. As so many people were anticipating the new Pokemon generation game to be announced at the Pokemon World Championships that just recently passed this year, Pokemon fans were left wondering what other goodies Game Freak and Nintendo had in-store for them besides Pokken Tournament and Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Well… wonder no more my awesome Pokemon fanatics.

If you’ve ever wanted the chance to live out the dream of truly becoming a Pokemon master in the real world then that time will surely come in 2016 when The Pokemon Company alongside Nintendo and Niantic unveil their newest Pokemon creation into the Pokemon community…. Pokemon GO. Pokemon GO is a game/app that you’ll be able to download onto your IOS and/or Android device and will give you the opportunity to search, battle, and capture virtual Pokemon in the real world via GPS and location data information. It will be free-to-play but it will have in-app purchases to enhance your Pokemon experience. This is kind of similar to what emerged last year on April Fool’s day when google launched a Pokemon Map Challenge that actually let people use Google Maps to search and capture Pokemon. Though Pokemon GO seems to be a lot more in-depth and as you will be the one actually out on foot searching for these Pokemon instead of merely screen rolling for captures.

There will also be a watch that will be available for purchase to help aid you in finding and capturing Pokemon called the Pokemon Go Plus. Though the smartwatch is optional and is in no way needed to capture Pokemon on Pokemon Go, the Go Plus does provide a more authentic feel to the adventure as it’s connected through the Pokemon Go app via Bluetooth and vibrates whenever Pokemon are within the area. The Go Plus will also have the ability to capture Pokemon that are found among you, ensuring that whether you’re on the Pokemon GO app or the Go Plus, you’re sure to never miss an opportunity to catch a Pokemon that’s in your area.

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you guys how excited I am as a Pokemon fanatic to hear about this coming to us next year. Pokemon has been one of the few games that has stuck with me for so long and having it brought to life in such a way is amazing. I just have this feeling that Pokemon searching for me is going to be very interesting when it comes to where these Pokemon will actually be popping up, as I can truly see crowds of people frantically rushing about the city with their phones out as they search for their favorite Pokemon. I’m excited beyond words about this and I can’t wait until this arrives to us next year.

Here’s the announcement trailer that was released within the press conference that will give you a better idea of what’s to come for us next year. Also, if you missed the Press Conference, no worries, you can check that out right here as well.

Well, how are you guys feeling about the Pokemon Go announcement. Leave your comments below and be sure to keep it locked to GP as we keep you up to date on what’s circulating within your gaming universe. See ya!
