Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Getting Backyard Battleground

Posted August 6, 2015 by Kat in News

We may not yet have a release date for Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 but Electronic Arts and PopCap Games are announcing some special new features for the title. Foremost among them being the new Backyard Battleground – a new dynamic playground that will allow access to and variety across the game’s differing elements.

The Backyard Battleground is described as a dynamic hub to the game, an interactive environment that will allow connection to all maps and modes throughout the game. This specialized playground will be provided with a variety of dynamic events, and where up to three friends can be invited to participate. Activities available will include the finishing of daily quest, completing missions for Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss, interacting with other characters in the game, starting all-out war by crossing into enemy territory, and so forth.

PopCap has also partnered with BioWare (also a part of the EA conglomerate) to offer a special incentive for pre-orders: access to a Grass Effect Z7-Mech. This robot comes with a Zomni-tool, and will be specialized for the enhancement of tech, biotic, and weapon damage.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is slated to launch early next year for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can check out its newest trailer out of Gamescom here.
