Konami is gearing up for release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and with it has come some exciting new announcements for the PC edition of the game.  First among the announcements being that the PC release of the game has been moved up: while initially intended to come out on September 15, it will now launch September 1 alongside console editions of the game.

Konami president Tomotda Tashiro said of this change, “We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers.

It was further stated that those who pre-order the title via Steam will receive a free version of the 2014 prologue to The Phantom PainGround Zeroes.  Furthermore, everyone who buys the game – and not just pre-orders, but everyone – will gain access to a behind-the-scenes collector’s video and documentary.  There will also b a “Venom Snake” emblem and a as-of-yet-undetailed Mother Base Staff DLC.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be out September 1 for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, and looks to be the last title before series creator Hideo Kojima departs Konami.
