GTA Mod Inserts Mass Effect Reaper

Posted August 27, 2015 by Kat in News

Fans of Mass Effect and Grand Theft Auto alike can rejoice at the release at one of Grand Theft Auto V‘s newest PC mods, which comes in the form of an enormous Reaper hovering over downtown Los Santos. The scale of the Reaper comes full-size and if appearances are to be believed, appropriate visual approximation for how the terrifying foes appeared in the Mass Effect trilogy.

As it stands, the Reaper replaces the game’s blimp, allowing users to pilot the Reaper instead around higher perspective of the city. The mod’s creator JJxOracle has noted that this is only a beta for now, and there are some issues with it. Among other things, it’s prone to disappear, its legs don’t always touch the ground, and it lacks proper collision detection.

All the same, it’s an exciting alternative for the blimp, allowing gamers to slowly fly around the city of Los Santos, complete with similar cockpit viewpoint as to what was offered from the blimp.

This Reaper mod can be downloaded here, with the caveat that mods are sometimes used to distribute malware. As an alternative, you can check out screenshots of the mod, or a YouTube video of it in action here.
