Nolan North Drops Hints at Last of Us Sequel

Posted July 1, 2015 by Kat in News
The Last of Us

At a recent Q&A, voice actor Nolan North revealed more than a few details about projects at Naughty Dog – including the fact that much of Amy Hennig’s work on Uncharted 4 was scrapped after she left the developer.  And amidst the other details he discussed?  The possibility of there being a sequel to the much-loved The Last of Us.

As North said, “For now I know they’re doing Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us kind of met an untimely demise.”  He then went on to say that he “didn’t know” if they were at work on another title.

Speculation about a sequel to The Last of Us has been around for a while, no doubt pressed on by fans who loved the game enough to want to see more from the world.  But there is something to be said about the stand-alone nature of it, particularly given the powerful ambiguity of its ending.  At the same time, if there’s one developer that can be counted on to approach something like a sequel to this beloved game, it’s Naughty Dog.

And if there is anything in the works, it’s likely in the early stages; at this point we’re unlikely to hear anything official until Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has finally released.
