Lords Of The Fallen Dev Announces Action RPG The Surge

Posted July 23, 2015 by Bunneh3000 in News

Lord’s of the Fallen developer Deck 13 has unveiled the name of their next role playing game adventure. This time, though, it isn’t a Dark Souls clone or even a fantasy setting. Instead, their new action RPG is a science fiction RPG entitled  The Surge. Teased earlier in June with a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare-esque picture, this action RPG is slated for release on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017.

Publisher Focus Home Interactive is set to give the press a bit more details at Gamescon in Germany between August 5th and 9th. The publisher has only said that this new game will feature  “innovative combat mechanics” and an “original character progression system.

If Lords of the Fallen is the template for this game, we are certainly in for a treat as the Dark Souls clone provided a more accessible action RPG experience that didn’t skimp on the difficulty while still providing a less stringent combat mechanic. There are few sci-fi RPGs on the market worth mentioning so lets hope the story drives us all to yet another franchise that captures our collective imagination. We’ve quite a while to wait before we see a trailer or gameplay though.
