Nightingale’s GP Picks 6/26/15

Posted June 26, 2015 by Felisha "Nightingale" Silva in Features

It’s Friday, and I’m here to grace you with this week’s GP Picks where I, Nightingale Silva, tell you what games you should be playing this weekend. I’ll give you the top three games I think you should be giving a try this weekend, along with one retro-ish titles that you may or may not have played, but definitely need to!

First up on GP Picks, I give you Batman: Arkham Knight. Batman: Arkham Knight released on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on June 23rd, 2015. Join Batman and other characters from the Batman Universe in the final chapter to the Arkham series. It’s been nine months since the Joker’s demise. Scarecrow has unleashed his worse upon the city of Gotham. As Batman goes to investigate and put an end to Scarecrow’s mayhem, he comes face to face with a new foe, the Arkham Knight. Play as Batman and take down Scarecrow once and for all and find out who this mysterious Arkham Knight is!

Next up as my GP Picks is Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition. Basically, you’re getting the Devil May Cry 4 you know and love but for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 but with a high-definition upgrade. You also get three playable characters, Virgil, Trish, and Lady. You also get both Japanese and English voice tracks in the game. In the game, play as Dante and Nero and solve the mysterious within the game and fight demon after demon. Even if you’ve played the original Devil May Cry 4, you’ll definitely want to get this if you have a PS4 or Xbox One… Especially if you enjoyed the original!

Do you love to draw? Do you love art? Do you own a Wii U? Then you may just want to give this next game a chance. Art Academy: Home Studio has released onto the Wii U eShop this past Thursday, the 25th. Enjoy up to 30 art lessons, drawing at your own pace, creating whatever your imagination can come up with, and create time-lapse videos that you can share via Miiverse and on YouTube. The game goes for $29.99 on the Wii U’s eShop, but if you already own Art Academy SketchPad, then you will get $4 off on Home Studio. I for one have SketchPad, and as soon as I can go grab an eShop card, this game is as good as mine. SketchPad is pretty fun, so I can only imagine what this super-duper upgraded version will be like!

And now for my ‘retro-ish’ title. In the spirit of the release of Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, I choose the original Devil May Cry game that started it all! The game originally released on the PS2 back on August 23rd, 2001. This is the game that first introduced us to Dante, the half-demon, half-angel demon hunter who we have all come to love over the years. Hack and slash and shoot your way through hordes of demons in the original that started it all.

So what will you be playing this weekend?
