Details on Diablo III’s Newest Patch

Diablo III

Blizzard has offered up first details about the newest upcoming patch for Diablo III and it looks to be offering up some rather significant changes.  Among other things, this will offer exploration of a new zone called Ruins of Sescheron which the developer describes as having “mysteries from the lore of the mighty Barbarians.”

Patch 2.3.0, as it’s being called, will also offer the chance to obtain Kanai’s Cube.  This is itself a callback to the Horadnic Cube from Diablo II which was both pivotal to the story, and also useable in the crafting of specific items.  Kanai’s Cube looks to be expanding on that, allowing the breaking down of Legendary items as well as equipping of special effects from those items as passive skills.

The crafting system itself is also getting further overhaul to a degree Blizzard is describing will make it “easier and more fluid than ever.”  Among other things, crafting will scale according to your level, which means fewer recipes in the overall game.

This new patch will be made available at some point in the near future via Public Test Realms where gamers will get their first go at the changes.  Though the developer did warn changes could still be made between then and the patch’s final release.
