It’s been swirling amidst the gamer realm for some time now, and many gamers have been asking the question “Is Silent Hills canceled or not?” Well, finally after many announcements for departure from the project have been made, Konami released a statement on the matter – and I don’t think it’s what many of us wanted to hear.

So…basically…Norman Reedus (co-star in The Walking Dead, and who was also lending his face and voice to Silent Hills) is no longer on the project due to his contract supposedly being expired with Konami. Kojima is God knows where when it comes to this project, and Del Toro has dropped off of the project as well. So what does Konami have to say about all of this? Just this, with no specification to the game Silent Hills:  “We will continue to develop the Silent Hill series.

No more CG Norman Reedus in Silent Hills…

What does this simple sentence tell us? They will continue to make Silent Hill games, but it looks as if Silent Hills is no more. Great way to shoot yourself in the foot there, Konami. Also, to add fuel to the fire that is the abandonment of the project, P.T. – the teaser demo for Silent Hills that was specially released on the PS4 – will be removed from the PlayStation Store any time now.

The creepy ghost-lady in P.T.

What was once a game that looked to resurrect the Silent Hills series from the ashes of it’s mediocre predecessors, is now no more. Can’t say we the fans are too happy with you, Konami, not one little bit.
