It’s Friday, gamers and gamerettes! The weekend is right around the corner, but first it’s time to get into the Weekly News Rundown. WNR is where I, Gaming Precision’s very own Nightingale Silva, will ‘rundown’ some of the top stories from the past week in the world of gaming. So shall we get started?

It was announced via Twitter earlier this that Square Enix will be re-releasing Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster on the PlayStation 4 on May 12th. And as if that wasn’t cool enough, to sweeten the deal, those who preorder the game will get a free desktop calendar composed of Yoshitaka Amano’s artwork. Amano is very well-know for his gorgeous art of the Final Fantasy series.

Will you be picking up this beauty for your PS4? Will you reserve it so you can get your hands on the calendar?

It looks like RockBand is making its musical comeback, according to a Tweet from the makers of the game itself, Harmonix. RockBand 4 is slated to come out sometime this year and will run on both the PS4 and Xbox One. Even neater, it will use all of the last-gen instruments along with a few new ones that will be released for the game. The game will even be able to play 2,168 of the previously released RockBand tracks.

Harmonix even said that they don’t plan on making a new game every year, but will instead update “the game people buy this year for the entire generation“.

I miss playing RockBand…so I can definitely see myself grabbing up a copy of this for my
PS4 when it releases. Will you be doing the same?

Looks like another character has been revealed for the next in the Mortal Kombat series, Mortal Kombat X. Johnny Cage, a Mortal Kombat veteran, will be joining the roster on MKX alongside his previously announced daughter, Cassie Cage. Cassie’s mother is none other than other Mortal Kombat original, Sonya Blade.

It’s also rumored that we will also get Kenshi as a playable character. All of this came about in an interview with Adam Urbano, the senior producer at NetherRealm Studios.

Mortal Kombat X will release for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC on April 14th.
