The PlayStation Update 3/11/15
What’s going on fellow gamers, Kenesu here with another PlayStation Store Update for you guys. We have a pretty good mix of games hitting the store this week. Hotline Miami is coming to an end but not without an awesome sequel to cap it off in Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. DMC got a huge facelift in DMC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition yet has a ton of new features and modes ready to be unveiled in its remastered debut to the Next Gen platforms. We also have some awesome PSOne classics hitting the scene and a couple Cross-Buys that you won’t want to pass up if you own multiple PlayStation consoles (which you should). Check the list below and see what the Playstation Store has to offer us this week.
The Alter Echo
Your name is Nevin and you’ve just been given the most awesome shape shifting weapon to wield….. the EchoPlast. With it, you can transform into 3 forms (Sword, Gun, and Stealth), pass through walls, and even manipulate time. Though with great power comes great responsibility… as the original creator of the EchoPlast, Paavo, has his own EchoPlast suit and plans to wipe the human race with it with the assistance of his plast minions he has spread out amongst the world to expand and dominate. Journey within a futuristic world as you shape shift and bend time to your advantage all in an attempt to remove the EchoPlast from Paavo and stop him from destroying the human race. You’re the only shaper for the job… are you up for the task? This is a PS2 Classic that is currently available for download through the PlayStation Store for the PS3 & PS4.
DMC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition
Let it be known right now that DMC for the PS4 is WAY more than a simple visual upgrade. Granted the 1080p makes it look so much sexier than its PS3 counterpart, there’s tons of goodies added into this remastered game that just makes it that much more awesome. All the previous DLC will be included in this game, a “Blood Palace” mode for Vergil will be available, Turbo Mode which will increase the game speed by 20%, Hardcore Mode, a “Gods Must Die” difficulty level that allows no items, has all enemies spawn in Devil Trigger and they all deal 2.5x more damage. There’s a Must Style Mode that forces players to receive a S Rank or higher to do damage to enemies, new costumes for both Dante and Vergil, trophies and achievements have been updated, and a new Leader-board for Hardcore and Vergil’s Blood Path mode. This game has everything you loved about the original 2013 DMC plus so much more. There’s no reason not to pick this up if you own a PS4 and loved DMC the first time around. This game is currently available for purchase through the PlayStation Store and Retail Stores for the PS4.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
As the Hotline Miami Saga comes to an end we are brought Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number to pick up where Jacket left off after he killed off the Russian Mafia. With game-play being the same as the previous (which isn’t anything bad at all), there are some new add-on’s and features that will be present in this Hotline Miami Finale. Two new difficulties will be added to the game, as when you beat a level with a C rank or higher, you’ll be able to track back and play the level in either Easy, Classic, or Extreme mode. Be advised though that in Extreme mode the enemies will become 2-3 times harder to take down with certain abilities stripped from you at the same time. There will also be 13 playable characters that you’ll be able to play with through-out the game rather than just the traditional Jacket and Biker. Each character will have their own special abilities as well so you’ll want to play around with each of these guys for a bit to see which one fits your gun totting style best. There has also been talk of a level editor as well though it’s been said that it won’t be released until later in the spring after the games release. Fans of Hotline will definitely want to pick this up as you’ll definitely want to see how this series….. “Goes out with a bang” (ha ha, see what I did there?). This game is currently available for purchase through the PlaysStation Store for the PS3, PS4, and the PS Vita. This is also a Three-Way Cross-Buy so feel you’ll have no reason not to play and finish this game if you own all 3 systems.
