Spotify FINALLY released today for the PS3 and PS4

Posted March 30, 2015 by Kenesu in News

Spotify users rejoice as the Spotify App has finally come to the PS3 and PS4 today. Originally announced on January 28th, Spotify now is available to be downloaded to your PlayStation system and will come pre-installed to all forth-coming PlayStation systems. Don’t worry though you guys, you WON’T need a PlayStation Plus or a Premium Spotify account to use the app. You definitely will need to have Spotify account in general though to be able to access and use the app though.

Spotify will resemble the same desktop interface you’ve come to know and use with ease, updating live music feeds and info throughout the course of your day while being able to select your favorite genres, set up your playlist, etc. You’ll also be able to play Spotify in the background on your PlayStation system while playing your games the same way you’ve been able to do so with your music. Holding the PlayStation button will open a mini menu in the lower bottom portion of the screen that will allow you to navigate through your songs and play-list without having to leave the game at all. Those with Spotify Connect are also in luck as this app will be compatible with the Spotify Connect App as well. This will make it easy to go from stationary to mobile with your Spotify music as you can start up Spotify on your PS3/PS4, then whenever you see fit, could hit a button on your PS3/PS4 that will seamlessly transfer the music you were just listening to on your system to your phone (granted its running Spotify as well) to continue listening on the go. Pretty neat if you ask me.

Spotify users/music lovers NEED to download this ASAP as there’s really nothing to lose and so much to gain. It’s free and accessible to both PlayStation platforms… what more could you want?

So what are y’alls thoughts on Spotify coming to the PS3/PS4? Will you be using the app, or will it be just something else taking up precious space on your hard-drive. Leave your comments below and keep it locked to Gaming Precision as we keep you up to date on what’s circulating within your gaming universe…. See ya!
