Rodea The Sky Soldier Coming To Wii U, 3DS, and….Wii?

Poor Rodea. He just wants to save Garuda. Thankfully, this Sky Soldier is not alone.

NIS America is back again to bring the quirkiest and yet most appealing Japanese RPGs to the States. This time, rather than focusing on the PlayStation Nation, they’ve decided to hop on the Nintendo bandwagon.

Creator Yuji Naka’s original vision for Rodea is finally coming to Nintendo Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. In a much more interesting move, they’ve decided to include the Wii version with the first run Nintendo Wii U copies. I suppose this is significant considering the game was intended to release back in 2011 by Kadokawa Games. Other companies were interested in the Western rights to publish the games but it didn’t happen, until now.

Looking to be a cross between Sonic, Shadow of the Colossus, and … well… you’ll have to take a look at the trailer to be able to make heads or tails of it. Apparently the protagonist, Rodea, is controlled by pointing a target where you want him to go. So that means with your 3DS or Wii U touchpads, you’ll be pointing Rodea in the path of danger or victory. The Wii version has the same scheme as you point the Wii mote where he is to go.

Somebody must have REALLY wanted the this game. Those somebodies will get there chance to play it this fall.
