No Plans for Other God of War Remasters

Last week it was announced by Sony that God of War III will be making its way to the PlayStation 4 as one of the series of next-gen upgrades being given to older titles.  The good news is that this remaster is still in the works and guaranteed.  The bad news is, it doesn’t look like any others in the God of War series will be seeing any kind of similar PS4 release.

In a discussion about the news on the PlayStation blog, Santa Monica Studio’s Aaron Kaufman stated, when asked, “No plans for others in the franchise to bring over.”   He also answered in response to a query that God of War III will be getting both retail and digital release.

Undoubtedly this is disappointing news for fans of the older games that were hoping to see an upgrade to PS4 technology.  At the same time, there’s certainly still the possibility that at some point in the future, some other remasters could still occur – possibly depending on the success of the God of War III remaster.

God of War III Remastered is set to launch July 14 for the PS4 complete with 1080p graphics and hints of further additions to celebrate the series’ 10-year anniversary.
