Ni No Kuni Developer Announces “Level 5 Vision: The Beginning” Event

Ni No Kuni developer Level 5 is unique in that they’ve produced some of the most beautiful and personality filled RPGs ever made. Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch is regularly talked about as one of the greatest most recent JRPGs due in part to its affiliation with Studio Ghibli’s trademark animation style.

Recently, it was announced that Level 5 will be hosting a special event called “Level 5 Vision: The Beginning” in Tokyo Japan on APril 7th. With little more information than that, apparently their next gen effort will be a “major cross-media project”. The announcement also confirmed that the studio is working on three other games including Fantasy Life 2, Yo-kai Watch 3, and another Professor Layton game.

Many think that this grand announcement could be something else that the studio is leaning towards along with Studio Ghibli. It would be simple to think this is the sequel to Ni No Kuni on the PS4 but even that is still up in the air for now.

While I couldn’t find myself completing Ni No Kuni when I attempted to play it on my PS3, I did see the appeal of the action-RPG and the ‘easy to settle into’ JRPG nostalgia to the gameplay. It had lots of depth and a truly appealing art style that did scream Miyazaki movies thru and thru. Still, it didn’t manage to grip me with its cuteness despite the excellent execution. Here’s to hoping that a sequel does come about that truly utilizes the PS4’s power a capabilities.
