Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires Free Alliances Brings Free To Play Hack N’ Slash

Posted March 2, 2015 by Bunneh3000 in News

Omega Force and Koei Tecmo are never at a loss for cranking out new versions of their tried and true Dynasty Warriors hack n slash formula. Just last week, the more tactical version of Dynasty Warriors 8 entitled Empires was released last week on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PC (via Steam), and Xbox One consoles.

Your forever hack n’ slash fan Bunneh3000 has been hard at work trying to unify China once again and is finding the experience to be closer to his all time favorite Empires version of Samurai Warriors 2.

Oddly enough, Koei Tecmo is attempting to evolve this longstanding franchise once again by diving into the free to play pool with, you guessed it, another version of Dynasty Warriors. This time, it is being called Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires Free Alliance. Veterans of the franchise will be happy that this version will allow players to import save data from previously saved DYNASTY WARRIORS 7 Empires games for PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4. As a PlayStation exclusive, Free Alliance will allow ALL PlayStation owners (PS3 or PS4) to download and play the Free and Edit modes of Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires. PlayStation Plus members will have access to the Empire Mode to play with others online.

Stay tuned for more as I try to figure out what the difference between the paid version of the game (priced at $49.99 on PS4/X1 and $39.99 for PC and PS3) and the Free Alliances version is. The free-to-play version is set for a March release.
