Capcom Updates Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for Co-op

Posted March 4, 2015 by Kat in News

Following fan outcry over the lack of co-op in Resident Evil: Revelations 2 on the PC, developer Capcom is rectifying the situation by releasing an update to support the new option.  Specifically, it allows for a split-screen of local co-op in both the campaign and raid modes of the game.

At present, the update currently only exists in beta on Steam, but the upside is that anyone has the ability to opt-in and test it out.  Capcom did also warn that mode may not be 100% because they’re wanting to get it to PC gamers as soon as they can.

Here are the instructions for activating co-op in each mode:

  • Campaign Mode – simply press the START button on Player 2 game pad upon entering active gameplay.  Ending the game or exiting to the main menu will automatically return to full screen single player mode
  • Raide Mode – pressing the START button Player 2 game pad in the Vestibule (the staging area) will activate splie-screen mode.  Select character, configure your loadout, and select Raid missions as normal.  Exiting the Vestibule and backing out to the main menu will automatically end split-screen mode
  • Alternatively, simply disconnecting the 2P controller will force the game back into full screen single player mode

The official announcement regarding the update offers instructions on how to access the beta on Steam.  The only requirement is having two controllers that support XInput.  As an alternative, there’s also a fan-made mod available.
