Xbox Reveals New March Update Features

Posted February 21, 2015 by Bunneh3000 in News

Microsoft has had great dedication to bring both expected and new features to the Xbox One. In the past year or so, we’ve seen over a hundred new features added since launch. Of course, a majority of them.

In this March update, Microsoft is adding the ability to take screenshots. Seemingly enough, this should have been there from the start. To take a screenshot, X1 users have only to double tap the home button and then press Y. Those using the Kinect can say, “Xbox, take a screenshot“. Taking screenshots would seem to be pretty important for a console that encourages content sharing through the use of Upload Studio. Oddly enough, with the addition of this feature, the ability to quickly share these screenshots using social media sites such as Twitter. On the bright side, the ability to use these screenshots as a background on the ‘home’ page for the Xbox One is now available as well.

Also available in the update is a Suggested Friends area in the Friends app. There, the system will suggest friends based the lists of your existing friends as well as some on the community that have great content sharing to enhance your activity feed.

Other features include Tile transparency, Spam reporting, and sharing your real name. Check out Major Nelson’s blog for the preview vid.
