For the past month, the hunt for Amiibos has been pretty crazy amongst video game/retail stores. Nearly every store that you go to now a days are either completely sold out or only have 1 -3 Amiibos remaining out of the whole store. The demand for these little guys have risen since the release of Smash Bros for the Wii U and its about to get even crazier with Walmart promoting a brand new exclusive Amiibo that will only be attainable through purchasing Mario Party 10 from their store.

Exclusive Walmart Amiibos

Images on Reddit have surfaced of Walmart launching a promotion of Gold and Silver Mario Amiibos being given to customers who plan to purchase Mario Party 10 on March 20th when the game officially drops. Obviously there will be a limited supply so this will pretty much be a first come, first served kind of deal. Leaving those late to the party having to either wait for the next shipment of exclusive Amiibos to hit the store which could take forever or simply go on Amazon or eBay and purchase one from there that will probably be sold for an outrageous price. Both gold and silver Amiibos are in the same stance as the ones from the Super Mario Amiibo Series and will be available on March 20th when Mario Party 10 gets released to the world.

At the moment, Link holds the title at being the most popular Amiibo to date, with Kirby and Mario treading right behind him. Though with a promotion such as this, I can definitely see the Gold and Silver Mario Amiibos closing in and stealing that title from Link and rise in popularity and value as well. I personally don’t collect Amiibos myself (foolishly passed up a rare Lucario Amiibo that my bro offered me and kick myself repeatedly each time I think about it now) but having a Gold Mario Amiibo on my desk definitely wouldn’t hurt anything and would look pretty awesome next to my Silver Sackboy Statue that I have.

So what do you think about the new Amiibo news? Do you feel the Amiibo craze is a little too much or are there simply not enough Amiibos out to satisfy your want for more? Do you plan on purchasing Mario Party 10 just for the Gold/Silver Mario Amiibo? Leave your comments below and we’ll keep you updated with more on this Amiibo craze. See ya!
