If you frequent Twitch channels a lot, often times you will find some of us streamers who play games for charity. Streamers will often times give away free games to those who donate money to a particular sponsored charity. It is a great way to have fun and donate to a cause that can really make a difference.

Sony is getting in on the feel good vybe by introducing their new initiative called Playstation Heroes for their Playstation 4 console. The idea of this initiative is to feature various charities within the app. During that timeframe, special offers with games and gaming add-ons provide entry into experiences where the purchaser has a chance to play games with or against gaming celebrities either online or even in person. Of the purchase made, Sony states that 90 percent of the funds will go to the featured charity. In a Super Friends styled trailer, the celebrities mentioned were NBA superstar Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, hip hop legend Snoop Dogg, MLB all-star and Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, and snowboarder Shaun White.

Some of charities mentioned were the Make-a-wish Foundation, the USO, and the V Foundation for Cancer Research. A beautiful sentiment, I think that efforts like this will certainly increase as streamers, youtubers, and developers alike find causes they can contribute to.
