Darksiders II Coming to Next-Gen Systems

Posted February 18, 2015 by Kat in News

For fans of the Darksiders series, there’s some good news coming your way.  It looks as though a next-gen edition of Darksiders II is being developed, currently in the works and most likely to serve as a definitive version of the game.

A listing for the title on the PlayStation 4 appeared briefly on Amazon and was taken down a few hours later.  Nordic Games did then confirm that the title is in the works saying the “the authenticity of the listing is unquestionable.”  But beyond offering assurance that this is something the developer is working on, no further discussion of it yet has been made.  In additions to lacking of specific details – including a timetable for release, and if this edition will include all DLC – this also means we don’t yet have confirmation that it will be on the Xbox One.  Though likely the game will make its way to both next-gen systems all the same.

Darksiders II was originally released by the now-bankrupt THG and bought up by Nordic Games.  Not too long ago, creative director for the first two titles Joe Madureira while answering questions on facebook told fans that Darksiders “is not dead!!! The new owner, Nordic, seems very committed to continuing the series.”
