Evolve Open Beta Unleashed On The Xbox One Now

Posted January 19, 2015 by Bunneh3000 in News
The Goliath is one of three monsters a player can terrorize the others as.

From now until January 19th, the whole Xbox One universe will be able to take on Bun-zilla on the Evolve Open Beta. This time, the plan is to test out the Kraken, the Goliath, eight hunters to chase after them, and 12 different maps to chase them through. Anyone with a Xbox Live Gold account need only to go to the Xbox Store and download the 20 GB file and then choose between monster or hunter.

The Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock may be on to something once again with Evolve as the buzz has been steady. The plan for this beta is to reveal the new story mode called Evacuation. Played across 5 different matches like a campaign seen in Left 4 Dead, the hunters are tasked with protecting colonists in various modes over each of the matches. In the Nest match, the hunters destroy monster eggs while the monster must protect them. In Rescue, the hunters must rescue and protect colonists until they reach an evacuation point on the map while the monster must devour them all. In the last mission, the hunters must take on a fully evolved monster and his minions while everyone is prepped to evacuate the planet. The results of each match have a cascading effect on the remaining missions like an extra hunter, a rainstorm to mask the monster’s trail, and more I’m sure. It makes the experience more cohesive and definitely makes winning or losing a real consequence in this mode.

To sweeten the pot, if you choose to buy the game, your progress here will transfer into the final version as well!

Never fear PS4 and PC owners though. You’ll have a beta as well. Those who tried the alpha probably have received their invites by now.

Sounds good to me! Time for Bun-zilla to eat!
