GP Picks For 12/05/2014

Posted December 6, 2014 by Ivan "Tech Curse" Mashkov in Features

Welcome back to the Gaming Precision feature, where I, Tech Curse, break down four great games that were released this week. This week we have a console re-release, a zombie title, the number one social racing game and Telltale’s take on Game of Thrones.

We’re starting off with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, a first-person medieval combat action game. Players have the choice of four classes – Archers, Man-at-Arms, Vanguard or Knight. Play as a fast ranged fighter as the archer, or chose to don the heavy armor and pick up powerful weapons that annihilate enemies as the knight. The various classes are properly balanced with knights forced to deal with unwieldy weapons that leave them exposed to quick counterattacks and archers weak against attacks up close.

This ultra-violent multiplayer title will be the perfect fit for players who enjoy fighting it out on a variety of maps to accomplish a variety of objectives, like loot an enemy camp or breach a castle’s gate. It is out now on last generation consoles and has been out for over two years on PCs.

Dead State puts players in charge of a small group of survivors during a zombie apocalypse. This isometric RPG will challenge players to make the hard choices and attempt to survive. The developer wants to “work it [the game] into a broader examination of how humans deal with a crisis beyond their control.” However this game isn’t just about surviving. It is similar to the recent indie hit, This War of Mine, as both games force players to keep their teams motivated and content. That isn’t easy.

When was the last time you were depressed, sad or just felt like something is off? How did you get yourself motivated? It’s the small treats, vices and so on that keep us going. This is especially true, when the world seems to have turned against you. Personally, I have games and anime. An amazing game or hilarious anime episode can lift my spirits like nothing else. What’s yours?

Race with friends in The Crew, the number one social racing game. This title is all about getting together with your friends and racing across the whole of the US. This title has a lot of role-playing game elements and building a car is just plain fun. Do you love cars and driving? Then this title will surely have you jumping for joy.

I’m finishing off this week’s list with Telltale’s entry in the Game of Thrones series. This game introduces the House Forrester, a family that has yet to appear in the hit HBO tv series, however they have appeared in the book series. If you’re into the tv series, then you should know that it starts after the end of the third season and leads right up to the start of the fifth season.

That’s it for this week. Keep your sights locked on Gaming Precision for more news, reviews, features, impressions and more. See you next week and never forget Game Responsibly!
