Master Chief Collection Matchmaking Patch Delayed

Posted November 19, 2014 by Ivan "Tech Curse" Mashkov in News

Did you want, no, dare I say need the upcoming patch for the Halo: Master Chief Collection that was going to fix the game’s multiplayer component. Well, I have some bad news.

“This week’s content update, which was originally scheduled for release this Wednesday, 11/19, will now be releasing later this week to allow for additional fixes, as well as the completion of the testing and certification process.

This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title, including Matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more. The full patch notes will be posted later this week, in advance of the content update release.

Thank you for your continued patience.” – Halo Waypoint

Yes, the patch has been delayed, according to Halo Waypoint (via Joystiq), however not all is lost. The singleplayer campaign offers players a great way to experience their favorite moments in the Hal0 series. This title includes every Halo title, except for ODST and Reach, which didn’t feature the famed and notorious protagonist, Master Chief.

If you’ve been living under a rock since before E3, the holiest of holy video game conventions, then here’s a quick recap. Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a collection of the four main games in the Halo series. It allows players to experience the amazing singleplayer campaigns and dive into multiplayer without any real limits. Jump between games like its nothing and get those achievements by playing all four games in order. Also, Halo 5 beta, enough said.

This is one of the most compelling reasons to buy Microsoft’s current generation console, the Xbox One, and it shows. It has overtaken Sony’s PlayStation 4 for the first time since both consoles launched over a year ago. I’m interested and will get myself one, whenever I can afford it.
