The Last of Us Game of the Year Edition Announced

Posted October 24, 2014 by Kat in News
The Last of Us

Earlier this year, Sony and Naughty Dog re-released an upgraded edition of their hit The Last of Us to the PlayStation 4, complete with revamped graphics and all available DLC.  So now it stands to reason that it get a Game of the Year edition on the PlayStation 3, as tends to happen with all hits in such situations.

Naughty Dog recently announced the edition to be released in Europe on November 11.  Defined as the “ultimate version” of the game, it comes with it the full content of goodies and add-ons otherwise previously available.  Those of which include:

  • Left Behind – the story-based prequel DLC that follows the character of Ellie
  • Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories – offering up eight new multiplayer map packs
  • Grounded mode – the ultimate and hardest play difficulty for the single-player campaign

Price is to be set at €39.99 and will be available across Europe for the PS3.

As for North America, no announcements have been made yet, though it’s hard to imagine it won’t also make its way across the Atlantic.  Beyond the Remastered Edition of the game, will those who missed out now use this as an opportunity to pick the game up?  Only time will tell.
