Sony Still Working on Suspend/Resume Feature

Back in February of 2013, when Sony first showed off the PlayStation 4 in its initial reveal of the next-gen console, one feature that they discussed including with the new system was a suspend/resume system.  What this would do is effectivelly allow players to pause and resume games with one button touch, and more.  Including the option to pause a game by powering the system, and then immediately continue playing by turning it back on again.  An undeniably enticing sounding feature for any gamer.

Unfortunately, we’re almost a year into the PS4’s lifespan, and we have yet to hear any further about this particular function.  And Sony hasn’t discussed it much publicly or given any indication about when it might be added to the system.

The good news here is that Sony now has confirmed that they are still at work on the suspend/resume feature, and from the sound of it, are still in the process of developing it.  This discussion was briefly touched upon when Sony discussed full features of their 2.0 Masamune update.

In the meanwhile, this latest update comes with it a host of new benefits, including YouTube uploading, and a very enticing Share Play function that allows live streaming – and even game sharing – across PS4 consoles between friends.
