Mario Kart 8 Gets Some Pretty Rad DLC…For Free

Posted August 6, 2014 by Felisha "Nightingale" Silva in Uncategorized

As if Mario Kart 8 for the Nintendo Wii U couldn’t get any better, it looks like we’ll be getting some pretty sweet DLC based on the history of Mercedes-Benz with the Mercedes GLA DLC which will become available sometime this summer.

Along with all the awesome cars, bikes, and karts we have on Mario Kart 8 already, with this free DLC we will be getting not just one, but three cars from the Mercedes-Benz line of motor vehicles. We’ll get the 1957 300 SL Roadster sports car, the 1934 W 25 Silver Arrow formula racing car, and Mercedes-Benz’ latest SUV compact, the GLA, the namesake of the DLC.

In a Japanese trailer for the DLC, it states that the DLC will be launching in its region on August 27th. And according to a tweet from Nintendo’s official Twitter, North America and Europe will be getting the DLC also with a release window in the summer.

Along with when this GLA DLC hits, we will also be getting an update for the game, adding a map display on the TV screen along with a records screen, which will show off an online win-to-loss record and the total number of coins collected in race. We’ll also get improved online stability, and we’ll also be able to save the last used kart customization, and be able to edit others’ highlights.

Hopefully, Nintendo will announce the North American release date sooner than later.
