Details Emerging for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue

Posted August 8, 2014 by Kat in News

We’ve only just gotten confirmation of the next Assassin’s Creed, subtitled Rogue and affirming the long-discussed last-gen game from Ubisoft.  And already, the developer has been releasing a great deal of information about it.  Among this information is the rather surprising fact that it will be a single-player only game, with no multiplayer offered, serving in stark contrast to the co-op driven Assassin’s Creed: Unity, and the first one in the series to do so since Assassin’s Creed II.

Among the other details released about the game include:

  • Launch date is Nov 11 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with no information know about a potential PC or Wii release
  • Protagonist is Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who has betrayed the order and joined the Templars
  • The story follows his turn to the Templars, also marking the first time in the series that the main character will be a part of their order rather than the Assassins
  • Setting is during the Seven Years War, 1752 to 1761 (also known as the French and Indian War)
  • “overt link” is in place that ties it to Unity
  • A naval component, brought over from Black Flag, will be included
  • New weapons include air rifle, grenade launcher, and smoke grenades
  • This game rounds out the trilogy of games set in North America, the other two of which were Assassin’s Creed III and Black Flag
