Happy Friday all! The weekend is upon us, but first, it’s time for the Weekly News Rundown, where I ‘rundown’ some of the news from this past week in the world of gaming!

First, let’s talk about Sony…more namely, The Last of Us Remastered and how it’s not getting an upgrade discount for those who already own the game on their PlayStation 3. Sony’s Fred Dutton said in a PS Blog post, “Alas, there is no upgrade discount.” A lot of games that has been put on the PlayStation 4 has seen some sort of upgrade discount for those who have the game on their PlayStation 3’s. What do you think about this? Do you think we should have gotten an upgrade discount, or are you happy dishing out $50 for a game you already own on another system? Source: VG24/7

On other systems, we have the option to preorder a game digitally, a great option for those who don’t feel like going to their local game store on the game’s release day and dealing with, well, other people. When preordering a game digitally, you get that game at midnight and the launch day of the game. And now, according to Insomniac Games, the developer behind the Xbox One’s exclusive title, Sunset Overdrive, the Xbox One will. Well, for Sunset Overdrive at least. It came about in an installment of Sunset TV, where someone posed the question asking if we would be getting a Day One Edition content for the game if they were able to pre-order digitally, and the Community Manager simply answered, “Yes.” That right there confirmed that we would be able to very soon preorder games digitally on the Xbox One. The game comes out on October 28th. Source: VG24/7

After a decade of waiting, we will finally see the next Doom game, coming from id Software and Bethesda! The game will simply be entitled “Doom”, and looks to be super violent. With Bethesda making the game, we can expect that it will be pretty great. There will be a beta releasing on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. With few details out right now on the game, all we know is that it will launch for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and will run on id Tech 6 at 1080p and 60fps. Source: GameSpot
