PS4 Firmware Update Adds 3D Blu-ray Support

Posted July 28, 2014 by Bunneh3000 in News

I want my, I want my, I want my 3D PS4!

Okay, so my throwback chant about MTV didn’t quite go so well but some of you get the point!

The PS4’s feature packed list is ever growing much like its user base and all of you 3D fiends are about to get the one you’ve been waiting for. Those feverish Avatar 3D Blu-Ray fans are about to get their PlayStation wishes to come true as the PS4’s next software update this week shall include the capability to play 3D Blu-Ray movies.

Ah yes, on the eve of the release of The Last of Us Remastered, the PS4 continues to fill out its feature list. Some of the the ones that were promised that we are still awaiting include the suspend/resume feature, the online remote play friend assist, MP3 playback, external hard drive storage, PS3 remote control support, and YouTube video uploads.

A few of these features are pretty big ones that users are eager to wrap their dual shock controllers around. One pretty important one in this generation is the external storage support. Given the size of these fantastic games on the way, even now gamers are beginning to manage their hard drive space. It sure would be nice to not have to delete resources a mere 8 months after the console’s release.
