More News On PlayStation 4’s Updates

Posted July 28, 2014 by Ivan "Tech Curse" Mashkov in News

Sony is experiencing incredible sales of the company’s current generation console, the PS4, however it can’t do everything the PS3 could do. The company has been updating the console fairly regularly, including a recent update that included a video editing app, as well as the ability to copy videos to USB drives, among other things. However many of the features that were touted before release have yet to be implemented and it seems that we won’t have to wait long for the next update.

Fred Dutton, a community manager for the European PS Blog (via Video Gamer), responded to fans’ question about the next update: “Yes, more news on PS4 firmware updates very soon. Stay tuned.” The company then confirmed the news and a release window in a tweet. The update is coming this week, so you’ll be able to enjoy full 3D Blue-ray film support.

Both Sony and Microsoft are going strong in the latest console generation with the PS4 breaking every possible record for fastest-selling console and the Xbox One not getting too far behind. Now that Microsoft has abandoned the Kinect, we may see ever increasing parity between systems.
