Sonic Boom Recieves New Hero, Sticks

Posted June 3, 2014 by Bunneh3000 in News

Sega is making a large push with their new cartoon series Sonic Boom which is slated to debut on Cartoon Network during the 2014/2015 season.

“The series is an ensemble comedy consisting of 52 x 11-minute standalone episodes packed full of high-adrenaline action.  Every episode starts from a small character-driven story and explodes into an epic tale of saving the world, robot battles and more.” – Sega Blog

Sounds like great news, right? Well, to top that off, Sonic will apparently also have a new friend to join in the fun as well named Sticks! Sticks is a wild hunter who joins Sonic’s band of heroes using a variety of handmade weapons highlighted by her trademark boomerang. Using her amazingly accurate animal instincts and keen survival skills, Sticks is a valuable member of the team despite her awkward social skills. The dynamic of Sticks getting used to being social and civilization is bridged by a friendship with Amy who becomes her best friend. As the two get close, Sticks becomes very protective of her new BFF which apparently will lead to a lot of great new angles for the Sonic Boom storyline to blossom into.

The games that are planned to partner up with this new event are set to be a prequel to the show allowing for quite a bit of exploration into Sonic’s new adventures. Should make for a CG knee-slapper for the kiddies!
