It’s finally been announced, people! We are finally getting another installment in the Mortal Kombat series, brought straight to us by NetherRealm and Warner Bros. The announcement came by way of a trailer where you see Scorpion and Subzero battle it out. The new title will be called Mortal Kombat X, and the studio behind the game says the Mortal Kombat X “launches players into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for supremacy.  For the first time, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style. Players step into an original story showcasing some of the game’s most prolific characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil and tie the tale together.”

How cool does that sound?!

The game is set to release sometime in 2015, and will come out on PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game will be shown during next week’s E3. We’ve been hearing rumors of a new Mortal Kombat game for quite a while now, I’ve got to say it feels great now to hear that it will be coming to us gamers next year.
