Weekly News Rundown: YouTube Wants Twitch, ESO Delayed, & Hyrule Warriors Hype!

It’s Friday, and it’s the beginning of Memorial Day weekend! But first, before your 3-day weekend begins, it’s time for the Weekly News Rundown! Another slow week in the realm of gaming, but we got some pretty cool stuff to talk about still! Let us begin!

So, who’s heard about YouTube potentially buying Twitch for over $1 billion? Twitch, for those who don’t know, is a video game streaming service that comes in the form of a website and apps for your smart phones, tablets, and some home consoles. It’s an awesome thing, for I find myself watching it from time to time. According to The Wall Street Journal, they are still in the process of ironing out all of the details of the potential buy, with nothing being finalized at the moment.

This should really come as no surprise, it was only a matter of time. Google owns YouTube, among a ton of other things. Google is a powerhouse, so them wanting to own Twitch, doesn’t surprise me in the least.

It turns out now that Elder Scrolls Online for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One may or may not be released before the year ends. Paul Sage, the creative director behind the game states that they are “working round the clock to try an make this happen“, and also said, “I can’t guarantee anything, that would be foolish to do, but we are certainly working with that goal in mind.

The reasons behind this is that they’ve been faced with a “series of unique problems” that is specific to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It’s just a waiting game now, to see if we’ll get it this holiday season or wait for a spring release early next year.

More and more each day we’re getting more news about Hyrule Warriors, the Wii U exclusive title that mashes The Legend of Zelda and Dynasty Warriors together in a different but very beautiful way. We here in the west now have an English version of the website for the game, since Japan already had their’s a few days back. We also got a pretty new English logo as well, see, look! Isn’t it pretty? Along with that, we keep getting more and more artwork for the game and more info. As of right now, we know that we will get multiple playable characters, the only two released so far being Impa and Link of course. I can’t wait until they release the rest. And it’s also been cited that the main villainess, Shia, is actually named “Cia“.

The more I hear, the more excited I get. All aboard the hype train!
