Rumor: Sony Working On Allowing Users To Change PSN Names
A new rumor is making it’s way from NeoGAF. DualShockers reports that Sony may introduce the ability to change your PSN name in an update. This is one of the most requested feature that players have wanted to see incorporated for years. This rumor comes from a source that has been fairly reliable, especially when talking about the PS4’s UI (User Interface) before launch. This industry insider has kept up a solid record with their leaks since then, so it is possible that Sony will introduce the option to change one’s PSN name in a future update.
All we know at this point is that we won’t be getting this option in the next PS4 update 1.70, which will introduce the ability to pre-load games before they are released, give players better tools to edit video content and let us copy images and video to a USB drive.
Many gamers regret the names that they picked, when originally registering for the platform. To give a personal example, my PSN name is RRR112, a name that I randomly decided on when registering on the service. Now I dearly wish to change it to something far more suitable and I’m not alone. However don’t get your hopes up, even if Sony does introduce this feature, they may charge for it.
