PAX South Announced, Will Debut in San Antonio, Texas

Posted April 14, 2014 by Felisha "Nightingale" Silva in News

With this weekend’s past PAX East being held in Boston, and PAX Prime being held in Seattle, everyone who wants a piece of the PAX has been wanting one in another location closer to them, preferably a central one. Well, we have finally gotten our little gamer prayers answered! This past weekend a new PAX was announced, PAX South.

The new PAX South will make its debut next year in San Antonio, Texas at the Henry B. Gonzalez convention center. Robert Khoo, president of Penny Arcade said the following of their decision to open up a PAX in a more central US location:

Since its launch in 2004, PAX events have doubled in size almost every year, and our Seattle and Boston events represent the two largest gaming festivals in North America. We’ve been hearing for years that those in the south had a tough time making it to the northern corners of the country.

PAX South has always been a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if.’

Now, seeing as I live in Texas, at just a mere couple of hours away from San Antonio, I have to go. No ‘maybe’, or ‘we’ll see’ – I’m going! I’ve been to this particular convention center in the past for an anime convention by the name of San Japan. January 2015 cannot come soon enough!
