Xbox One March Update And Stereo Headset Details

Posted February 12, 2014 by Bunneh3000 in News

Microsoft is banking on March to be a BIG month for them. Whether or not it is sufficient to ‘turn the tide’ in this console war remains to be seen, but it appears to be a step in the right direction.

March marks the release of the epic Respawn Entertainment online multiplayer Xbox exclusive mech FPS game called Titanfall. Due to the dependency of online multiplayer with this game, Microsoft has been forced to put a rush on restoring the ease upon which players connect with their friends. The Xbox One community has been quite vocal about how difficult it is to connect and chat with friends is compared to the Xbox 360. As a result, Microsoft has planned and detailed an update for March which should make the experience a lot easier.

“Our March Xbox One system update will start rolling out in early March. We’re excited to get these multiplayer and party improvements out in time for the March 11 launch of Titanfall, the highly anticipated team-based online multiplayer game.” – Xbox Corporate Vice President Marc Whitten

Features such as the following will be added:

  • A “Xbox, go to friends” voice command going to a new ‘Social’ tile
  • Party chat is on by default upon entering a party
  • New ‘Invite friends to game’ option within a game’s menu
  • ‘Recent Players’ list
In addition to these features to reconnect Xbox One players to their friends, March will bring about a new stereo headset and an adapter(for chatting only) for those who already have a headset. To get game audio with this adapter will require direct connection with your Xbox One via an optical cable or TV via RCA cables.
