Xbox One

We have previously reported on the PS4’s sale through numbers for December 1st, when Sony confirmed that over 2.1 million consoles had been sold to consumers. Now its Microsoft’s turn. The software giant revealed that as of December 11th, the sales of their next generation console exceeded 2 million units.

“Since its launch 18 days ago, Xbox One is proving to be the must-have gift this holiday season with more than 2 million consoles sold through to consumers worldwide, averaging over 111,111 units sold per day – a record-setting pace for Xbox.”

The truth is that these numbers have yet to mean anything, since demand outpaces supply by a wide margin at this point. It will be interesting to see how the long game will turn out for both Sony and Microsoft with one betting on the core gamers and the other betting on a simple TV experience.
