Tech Curse’s Top 5 Games Of 2013

The PlayStation Family

It’s that time of year fellow gamers. It is, finally, time for each of us here at Gaming Precision to pick our top 5, the five games that really made this past year great. If you haven’t picked up one of the five games below, you should.

Gran Turismo 6

I am not a big racing simulator fan, in fact I haven’t played Gran Turismo 5 or any racing game for a while now. However GT 6 grabbed me from the very first race and hasn’t let go. The game offers players the chance to explore dozens of beautiful and challenging tracks with over 1200 cars. The driving mechanics feel incredible and allow you to “feel” the car and the track under you. The sounds are incredible, especially when you hit Dayton International Speedway at 400 kph (250 mph) and the roar of your engine deafens you. This is my top racing games of 2013 and 2012.

The Wolf Among Us: Episode 1

Did you know about Fables? I didn’t, until I picked up my controller to play the first episode of the Wolf Among Us. The game brings our favorite characters from fables to life. They are not the classic faces we remember from fairy tales, they are living breathing people, who have their own problems, emotions and connections. Set in a 1970’s New York we follow their struggles and the problems they face. If you want to learn more about the game, check out Gaming Precision’s video review of the game.

Bioshock: Infinite

The next game in the series that will screw with your mind is a beautiful affair that quickly turns to chaos. The flying city of Columbia is the one place I’d like to visit before I die. Bioshock: Infinite is one of the top three contenders for Game of The Year everywhere (GTA V and the Last of Us being the other two) and certainly made 2013 the best year for gamers.

Tomb Raider

A solid reboot of a beloved franchise has proven to be somewhat controversial among gamers, however it is a great game that everyone should check out. The first adventure that Lara Croft goes on is an exciting adventure on a mythical island of Yamatai off the coast of Japan. With brutal survivors and mythical guardians tearing the island apart things get out of hand very fast. This game is a lot of fun and should be a must buy.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist

Splinter Cell is a long and well known series of stealth games. Conviction rebooted the series and brought an incredible story to the game. Blacklist, the latest game in the series, allowed new gamers to get into the game, while allowing long-time fans to get their ultra-hard stealth fix.The review of the game is up on the site, so if you’re interested, check it out.

2013 is certainly the best year for gamers. We had a ton of great games, new technologies that can revolutionize gaming and a next generation of gaming that started just a few months ago. I wish you all happy holidays and a fun 2014!
