Tales of Zestiria Announced

Posted December 17, 2013 by Kat in News

The Tales of series is on a roll.  In addition to this year’s release of Tales of Xillia to the west, fans have also gotten the announcement for in-development Tales of Xillia 2, and the compilation of classics in the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.  And now, another brand-new game has been announced.  At a recent special event in Japan, developer Namco Bandai revealed the official game, called Tales of Zestiria, which will be released to the PS3 presumably sometime in 2014.  While it was initially only indicated for release in Japan, the developer later confirmed that it will eventually be making its way to North America and Europe.

This all comes after months of hinting and speculation about another game, including the opening of a teaser website in November, and a reference made in trademarks last summer.  No doubt, this will whet the appetite of many of fan, especially given the JRPG franchise’s increased popularity outside of Japan over the last generation.
