A PS4 bundle of the upcoming Infamous: Second Son containing limited editions of the game has officially been confirmed by developer Sucker Punch.  The confirmation came after the box art was leaked online through retailers, and Sucker Punch issued a correction regarding its release date.  Co-founder Brian Fleming made the announcement via Twitter saying, “No, that’s not the correct date.  We will announce the date this week officially.”  (Note that this tweet was sent on Wednesday.)  So while that’s very little information to go on, it’s still no doubt good news for any fans of the series, particularly for any who might be waiting to purchase a PS4 until the release of the game.

In the meanwhile, Sucker Punch has given details about other specific editions of the game, and what bonus features they will include.  The Special Edition of Second Son will come with the Cole’s Legacy DLC, available for download after the game’s release; it will detail events of what happened to the world in the seven years between the end of Infamous 2 and the start of Second Son.  As it was described on the Playstation Blog, “Cole McGrath’s actions in New Marais set in motion a chain of events leading to the now forceful occupation of Seattle by the oppressive Department of Unified Protection.  Cole’s Legacy bridges this gap in time with a series of missions Delsin must complete, revealing unique insights into how the world of Infamous: Second Son came to be.”  The Special Edition will also come with a Deslin Rowe-style beanie hat.

The Collector’s Edition will include the Cole’s Legacy DLC and the hat, as well as a denim vest cover for the game, an exclusive in-game vest, and a collector’s coin.

Infamous: Second Son is set for release on March 21, 2014.  It will take place seven years after Infamous 2.
