Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD Gets A PS3 Release Date
Last year, Ubisoft attempted an all out Assassin’s Creed blitz on the gaming world with two major releases. Assassin’s Creed 3 rocked the current gen console world and Assassin’s Creed Liberation rocked the PS Vita world. Well, Ubisoft recently announced that Assassin’s Creed Liberation is getting an HD remastered console release and Playstation 3 is to be first on the party list!
That’s right, the adventures of Aveline de Grandpré in the streets of American Revolution age New Orleans are coming to Playstation 3 via the PlayStation Store on January 14, 2014. This high definition version of Assassin’s Creed Liberation is said to include 15 new missions “based on main character Aveline’s three personas: Assassin, Lady, and Servant”. Aveline is the first female lead character of the series and is of mixed French and African heritage. Ubisoft plans to bring this once mobile adventure to the Xbox 360 and PC platforms as well but a release date has yet to be announced. In the meantime, Playstation 3 owners can take on the struggle against the Templars for $20.
As in the mobile version, Aveline will take on the templars utilizing the above mentioned personas (or disguises) in order to access certain areas as well as to utilize a weapon seldom used by others in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, her charm. Add that to her deadly skill with a whip, twin muskets, a machete, and a blow pipe and you have a unique combat style that couldn’t be contained on a PS Vita alone.
Aveline also managed to carve out her own piece of Assassin’s Creed IV as well. Promised as a set of 3 exclusive missions for the Playstation 3 and the Playstation 4 versions of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Aveline will use all she knows to free slaves and take on yet another foe. Here’s a bit from the Ubiblog:
This time around, Aveline is a bit older and, perhaps, wiser – but she’s every bit as feisty, ready for action with her dual pistols and iconic machete. Aveline’s missions once again have her protecting and freeing slaves, including Patience Gibbs, the imprisoned teenage leader of a band of runaways, who’s accused of plotting the mass murder of slave traders. Aveline will run into all kinds of obstacles – both above and below ground – en route to assassinating a Templar doctor named Edmund Judge and recovering a First Civilization artifact that’s somehow connected to the story…
Joy to the AC world!
