Retro City Rampage PC Adds Mod Support, Enhanced Graphics

For those that can’t get enough of those old style indie games, Retro City Rampage is getting a lot of love on the PC today as it has gone on a super Steam sale. Not only is the game on sale for 75%, but the PC version has had its visuals upgraded and according to Destructoid, the new graphics mode doesn’t drastically change the look of the game, the addition of real-time shadows and doubling the colors on-screen are nice touches. The new modding tools look to be a fun addition letting players create new vehicles, characters, and fonts.

Retro City Rampage is one of those few indies that I do call a fun game and would support playing it simply because it now supports mods, has gone on sale, and the developer is showing that he cares about it. Not every game that is made has to have good graphics, a solid story, and  a huge fan base to do well in the gaming industry, as a matter of fact, indie games prove that to be true every single day. There was nothing like running around the retro syle city and causing some rampage (get it?) when it released on pretty much every system possible back in the day but the PC version is still being looked after.

A lot of gamers on the forums are upset about “how can you update graphics on a game that looks like crap” and you know that these are the gamers that are just waiting for Call of Duty 13 to come out with a little more smoke in the background so they can call it original. The game is great and I would advise any indie gamer to go check it out on Steam while it’s on the sale it is currently on.
