Bethesda has announced that their software president is leaving their company and it is impacting them as a company. Things are very mutual and there are no harsh words between the president and Bethesda because he left to pursue personal interests. There is nothing wrong with the former president and the company as a whole but there are questions in the air as to whether or not the future of their company could be affected by this or not> It’s not as if a member of their tech support staff is leaving, it’s a software president who helped lead the company in to titles like RAGE and The Elder Scrolls titles.

Bethesda is a strong enough company to where this event is not going to be the end of them but in the gaming world and development industry, if something is working without a hitch and there are no problems, you are not supposed to change that recipe for success because most gamers are going to be able to tell a change has been made. Pete Hines told IGN that “While Todd was not part of the development teams, he was an integral part of id Software’s success as the business head of the studio and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Id Software should be an independent company at this point so there is going to be no remorse for the publishers that use this company if their development suffers. Todd Hollenshead is a great man and he basically built one of my favorite games of all time. If you want to see the genius that is Todd Hollenshead, check out a video review of RAGE, which can be found on IGN or just ask any gamer in the world about the Elder Scrolls titles.
