Is going out to eat for you a luxury? Do you live paycheck to paycheck? Does spending $60 on a game seem silly when you can get two or three games for that amount? Then you’ve come to the right place! Gaming on a Budget highlights various deals around the web where you can go buy or download awesome games for less than the expected price. If your money is in short supply, look no further!

Best Buy has the NeoGeo X Gold Limited Edition Handheld on sale for $129.99. Normally, this retro handheld is $199.99 and includes 20 NeoGeo games including King of Fighters ’95, Samurai Shodown II and Metal Slug but with this limited edition, you’ll get an extra game, Ninja Master. The NeoGeo X can also be plugged into a TV and played with an authentic arcade stick included in the packaged so really, this is both a handheld and a console all in one and a steal at $130.

GameStop has Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the PS3 and 360 for only $40. Both Hitman: Absolution and Dishonored for the 360 and PS3 is half off at $30 but Dishonored is online only.  A pretty decent deal is the bundle of a 40GB PS3 with Call of Duty Black Ops, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Rage, Duke Nukem Forever, and Battlefield Bad Company 2 all for $230. It’s not backwards compatible with the PS2 and the hard drive is lacking but for the games you get, that’s not a bad price. Finally, there’s also a promotion for used Wii and DS games where you buy two and get the third free.

Amazon is always great on deals and this week is no exception. If you like Hitman, the HD trilogy is 38% off at $25 for the 360 and PS3 while Madden 13 is $35 for the PS3 and Wii U. Max Payne 3 for the PC is almost 50% off at $27.22 and Sonic Generations for the PS3 and 360 is about $17, down from $50. Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition for the 360 and PS3 is around $20, down from $40, and Yakuza: Dead Souls is only $11.35 as oppose to $39.99. Finally, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is $12.49, down from $30, and Starhawk is $16, down from $60.

The Xbox Live Marketplace is having a sale for games by Microsoft Studios and there are some real standouts. Dust: An Elysian Tail, Hydro Thunder Hurricane and Mark of the Ninja are half off at 600 MSP, and Castle Crashers, Trials HD and Trials Evolution are five dollars off at 800, 400 and 800 MSP respectively. Eight other Xbox Live Arcade games, including Retro City Rampage at 600 MSP, are also on sale so check those out as well.

The PlayStation Store is having a sale on the Tomb Raider series, with the first four PlayStation 1 games costing only $3 instead of $6, except for the first game which is $5 instead of $10 and the Anniversary version for the PSP $6.49 instead of $12.99. The first two Legacy of Kain games, Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, are also on sale for $3 instead of $6 and there are also slight sales for the Walking Dead and Soldner X-2 games.

Finally, Steam has Torchlight II for only $10, Metro 2033 for $5, Orcs Must Die GOTY for $3.25, and Orcs Must Die 2 Complete Pack for $6.25. Five Prince of Persia games, Sands of Time, Warrior Within, Two Thrones, Forgotten Sands and the 2008 reboot title, are all on sale for $2.50 each. You can also get all five for the bundle price of $15 but that actually costs more than buying them individually so just do that.

Another week down the drain and while you may be a little more poor than you used to be, you’re not as poor as you could’ve been. Just your pal Colorwind doing his job, saving you money and getting you great games. Until next time, there’s nothing wrong with being thrifty with your money until the right deal comes around.
