Age of Wushu is Absolutely Terrible

It has been a very long time since I have seen a free to play game ‘win’ with the gaming community but it has been a while since one has failed as hard as Age of Wushu. With the launch today, which nobody expects a game to go very well at launch, players were forced to navigate through one of the most over complicated and unnecessarily confusing user interfaces to ever hit a computer monitor. I know that one of my favorite martial artists is the spokesperson for this game and although he may love the combat and look of the game, which aren’t terrible, he doesn’t understand what a gamer needs to enjoy their games.

Starting off this game, you feel completely lost as there is no voice acting whatsoever and the tutorial is one of the worst ones that I have seen since the LACK of one for Planetside 2. From the get go, I had to study a form of entertainment like it was homework and this was all during the incredibly slow start that the game so horribly provided for three hours of play time. As I watched the chat fill up with ‘what do I even do’ and ‘where do I learn my skills’, I couldn’t help but think, how could they release this game when it is this unfinished. I know that most of the moron gamers out there will say “Yes, some of us just don’t take the time to learn the game and have patience”, but that is not the case here.

You can take as long as you want, you will not like this UI, no matter how long you look at it, with a button to press every two inches apart that takes you to a menu with forty different screens, I was done with it in the three hours that I graciously provided.  I know it’s a free to play game, but I wouldn’t even disgrace your computer space with this horrid waste of time.
