Cyberpunk 2077 Gets Added “Multiplayer Features”

Posted March 14, 2013 by David in News

Developer CD Projekt Red managing director Adam Badowski has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a multiplayer component.  “It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we’re going to add multiplayer features,” Badowski said.

Badowski has also stated that players with not have pre-made characters but will allow them to create their own.  “We’ll have different situations in Cyberpunk,”  Badowski said, “Cyberpunk will have different character classes.”

Cyberpunk 2077 puts players into a “dark future” in, you guessed it, 2077.  In this future technology has become a curse and salvation for humanity.  Cyberpunk 2077 is being created for “mature” gamers, a nonlinear story, and is set in the metropolis of Night City.  Cyberpunk 2077 has also been revealed to have sandbox elements but no exact details have been released.

CD Projekt Red has also teased about having multiplayer in their to be released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt saying they were “thinking about something” in reguards to a series-first multiplayer option.

I’m always ready for multiplayer elements added to RPG’s.  Embarking on questions and doing side missions is always more fun with a friend.  Also being in a more futuristic setting will be a nice change of pace from games such as Fable and World Of Warcraft.
