Wargaming Makes a Move to Console Gaming With the Purchase of Day 1 Studio.

Posted February 9, 2013 by LarryC in News
WoT MMO game

Developer and Publisher Wargaming purchased Day 1 Studios. Wargaming known for their free for play MMOs like World of Tanks, will now try their hand at developing console games with the purchase of Day 1.

CEO for Wargaming,Victor Kislyi, commented on this move by saying, “The move into console game development is a huge step for Wargaming, as we begin to expand our presence into new platforms,”

With the array of War style games including combat with armored  world of tanks, Planes, and War ships, this looks like Wargaming will make an easy fit into the console market. These games are focused on team-based game-play .

Day 1 studios will be focused on the development of the  Multi-console games.

With those who are  familiar with the Wargaming brand. Does this news  about their move into the console arena make for good news? I am looking forward to which consoles they go to. Will it be the PS4, Xbox 720, Wii U?  Either way more MMO type games on consoles means only good things for the next-gen consoles and gamers that are fans of both. With 45 million players currently worldwide they should have no problem moving into the console market.
